Today was Iran's first match in Soccer World Cup. There was a special event for Iranians to come and watch the game. I am not into soccer or sports, but I thought that it was fun to watch one game with friends. When I got there many were there.
It was very fun because some Nigerian boys came to the room later to watch the game with us. Whenever Iran's defense shouted the ball, we were all screaming and being happy. Nigerian, on the other hand, were very angry. They really wanted their team to win the match, but we were satisfied with 0-0 even. I had lots of sunflower seeds today!
In the half-time, I talked to Nancy.
She: "Hello!"
Me: "Hello. Did you move your stuffs to your new home yesterday?"
She: "Yes. I called Asante, and he helped me."
Me: "OK. I am angry with you (قهر), and I am not your friend anymore."
She: "Nooo. Why???" (Laughing)
Me: "It is because of three things. First, you didn't call me yesterday. I expected to come and help you."
She: "I didn't want to bother you. You already helped me a lot, and I didn't want to cause another trouble for you."
Me: (OK. Passed. I accept, but you should have called me. I liked to be with you. Next one:) "You didn't come with us to San Antonio."
She: "I was busy. I should have prepared something for my professor. I really wanted to join you, but I couldn't."
Me: (OK. Passed. She is right; I can't expect her to leave her tasks undone.) "What about the other day when I asked you to come with us to Rodeo. At least, you could experience Rodeo once."
She: "I didn't to see them killing cows."
Me: "Killing? No. They didn't kill any cow. It was games only."
She: "I didn't know that. I didn't want to see bloods and violence."
Me: (OOOO, What a soft-hearted girl! I accept it, too!) "No, there was no violence. How can you say that you were in Texas, and you have never seen Rodeo. It is like you have visited Afghanistan. There is no Rodeo there, too!"
She: (laud laughter) "OK. Next time, I will come with you. I promise. Are we friends again?" (laughing)
Me: "Yes. We are!"
She: "Thanks God!"
Game ended 0-0. I was talking to a friend that a Nigerian guy passed and said, "congratulation guys!" He was very angry with the results. It was an amazing experience. It was the first time that I was in a place that both sides of a match from different countries were watching the game together. These are experiences that I could never get anywhere else other than the US.
"What's happened? I didn't want to talk to her anymore. I didn't even want to see her because of yesterday. I have absolutely no resentments against her now." I thought her in the night, "it seems that I like her from my heart. I feel happy with her." This thought made me decide to go one step forward toward her.
"I learned how to not to be shy. I learned how to be sociable and impress a girl. I know how to keep a conversation and make a friend with her. I had a very good progress, but I still don't know how to ask a girl to be my girlfriend. So, I need to read more about it in the Internet." I thought.
