Barbecue and art gallery in Cottonwood park

Michael, Marvin and Alexander are three Iranian boys who joined our university the previous semester. I know them because they don't have any funding from the school, and I talked to them about how to get some sorts of funding here.

There was an art gallery in Cottonwood Park today, so, I decided to give them a ride and go to this event together. I called Alexander at 12 am, and he said that it was their first day after their final exams, and they were all bored stucking in their home looking for an opportunity to go out and visit the town. They prepared barbecue stuffs, and I gave them a ride.

I parked my car very professionally turning from one side of the street to the other side in one move, and other drivers in the street enjoyed it :) When we got there, we noticed that they forgot to bring coal. We found a TomThumb store nearby. I move out my car (that I parked skillfully in a street with only one parking space) to go there. I went there with Alexander, and Micheal and Marvin went to visit the gallery. We bought coal, coke and ice, and we came back to the park. When we came back, Micheal and Marvin started to prepare the barbecue. In the meanwhile, I and Alexander visited the gallery.

The gallery was awesome. I really enjoyed everything I saw there. Alexander also liked it. I couldn't understand Micheal and Marvin' complains about it just a few minutes ago when we left them. They didn't like the gallery because the artists were selling their works there. I took several pictures there, and we came back.

We stayed there watching a man creating these pots. The way he was creating it was very amazing. I took a movie, but I don't think that I can share it.

Barbecue was awesome. We helped them to make it.

After eating our lunch, we went to see other areas of the park. In our walk, we saw two young girls hanging around. They were drinking water when we got close. They started to laugh, and Marvin decided to talk to them. We left Marvin alone.

A few minutes later, Marvin came back. "They were below 18. They were from Austin, and looking for fun here," Marvin said to Micheal. "I "They were underage... You know, the first time you get into a girl's pants, it wouldn't be interesting anymore...," Marvin added. I couldn't hear all of their conversation as I tried to keep my distance from them, but I couldn't understand him. He probably had sex several times in his life, and he enjoyed the first one better.

Decided about new home

I decided to take the smallest room there. I talked to the owner, and I signed the lease. I will move there in a week.

I talked to a girl who is my new neighbor. She was around 18. She said that one of my roommates is her friend, and his name is Eric. It seems that I will have an American roommate. I like it because I can experience new things.

Two hours talking to a Chinese girl

I was in my office that a Chinese girl came. I decided to talk to her. It was her last semester, and she was going to attend another university after graduation to teach. We talked about her hometown. She was from a city that Terracotta Army was there. She showed me her university. She also had a very long journey to come to the US, and city was one of the most important factors for apply. We had many things in common.

She explained me how in China three families can't be more than 5 persons (because of child restrictions enforced by government). I really enjoyed talking to her.

It seems that I am done with talking skills. I can start a conversation with a girl and keep it. They also enjoy talking to me. I am converted from a very shy boy who never talked to a girl to someone who can easily communicate and convey his feelings. I need to work on my other skills until the day I meet my Taylor!

About a pretty Arab girl

Kids, there is a pretty Arab girl in our university who came here a few months ago. I talked to her twice, and she kind of likes me. I also like her, but I don't like Arabic language. She doesn't have Arabic accent when she speaks English, but she speaks Arabic. She is from Arabia. She is Muslim, and she keeps Hijab. Sometimes I ask myself why shouldn't I marry an Arab girl.

I scare being with her. She looks me with lots of affection, and I think that she can fall in love with me very easily. I don't want this to happen even though she may be one of my best choices for marriage. Let's call her Layla.

Talking to a pretty American girl

I was walking through the department aisles that I met pretty American girl.

Me: I am Woody, what is your name?
She: I am Britney.
Me: What are you doing here?
She: I have a calculus exam at 5 pm that I need to study.
Me: Wow. Calculus is very though. Do you like it?
She: It's though, but I can pass it.
Me: Let me ask you a question.
She: OK.
Me: What is 2 + 2?
She: 4????
Me: No. It is 22.
She: How?
Me: Put two twos next to each other :)

... Long conversation talking about majors, joking about Chinese and Korean, her summer plan playing Volleyball in Europe, her surgery in the next months because of injury in play,...

Me: Can I have your Facebook?
She: Yes. Let me search you.
Me: No, I am not searchable. Let me search you.
She: OK. My name is ....
Me: Wow. Is that you? It is not similar to you. (She was very different from her pictures. She was 10 times prettier than her best photos)
She: Believe me. It's me.
Me: Is that your dog?
She: Yes. She is adorable. I adapted her when she was very young.
Me: I can't add you as a friend. I don't know why. I don't know what's wrong with Facebook today.
She: I don't know, too.
Me: I will try it later.

...

She: Where are you from?
Me: I am from Persia.
She: Wow. Persia?
Me: Yes. Do you know where is it?
She: Yes. I know. It's in Middle east.
Me: Right... Can you speak Persian?
She: No. I know a little French.
Me: OK. Let me teach you Persian. "Salaam" means hello.
She: Salaam :)
([She had a very good Persian accent.)
Me: Wooow, you have a very good Persian accent. OK. Let me teach you another Persian word. "Khoda Hafez" means "Good bye".
She: Khoda hefez.
Me: You make me laugh. You have a very great talent to learn Persian.
She: Maybe next time that I saw you, you teach me some other words. I can learn new words every time.
Me: OK. I should go. Say Khoda Hafez.
She: Khoda Hafez [Are you leaving me? How can I see you again? Is it a real good bye or you are teaching this word to me? ...]

She was very interested in me. Even though she had a calculus test, she spent at least 30 minutes to talk to me. She was a volleyball player who wanted to travel to Italy and some other European countries to play in the university team. She was laughing all the time I talked to her, and she was pretty enough to be my girlfriend. She really expected me to ask her out or do something else. I don't know why I left her very unexpectedly. I think that I didn't know what to do, or I decided not to go anything further. When I left her, she couldn't say anything. I didn't even look at her face for the last time.

Indian food again!

I went out tonight with Jeeraj to have some Indian food. We went to a place that was pastry shop. It had lots of different Indian confections.

It was also very similar to what we have in Iran. The style of the shop was also similar.

It was funny to see Indian Jalebi. They had similar pastry.

Jeeraj ordered two foods, and we shared. The first one was very delicious. I liked the taste of its bread. It was a kind of bread cooked with special vegetables.

The second one was only chickpea (if I am not wrong). Both food very very oily.

This is the bread. I forgot names of the foods.

We went to an Indian shop after that. They had all things from Indian labeled with Indian language. I couldn't read the title.

We also found another common word, Jaroo :)

After that, we went to a QuickTrip shop to get some coffee.

I didn't want to drink coffee, but I tried a small vanilla cup, and I liked it.

Jeeraj talked about her love life, and the heartbreaks that he experienced. He talks about girls all the time that he is with me. He also talked about his life after graduation, and how hard it is to find a job. He is searching for a job, and he still doesn't have any good offer. In fact, it is very hard to get the first job in the US. He talked about a man who came to our university a few weeks ago, and he was going to interview him. He said that he was so proud of himself, and he had several companies. He said that he told him, he has so many connections to Google, and Microsoft that can help anybody to get the job without interview. I really like to meet this guy. If he can help me to get a job without going through all boring interview things, I would be so grateful.

My course project and talking to Angelina

Today was the last day of my class. We had our project presentations. My team members behaved with me like strangers. We were in the middle of the class that Angelina came. She was in the other section. The presentation went well, and there was no problem.

After the class, I stayed to talk to Angelina.

She: I am graduating this semester.
Me: Really? I thought that you had one more year.
She: No, I took summer courses, and I was in the fast track. I will get my Masters this semester.
Me: Congratulations.
She: Thanks.
Me: What are you going to do after that?
She: I will join the company that I had my internship with it.
Me: That's great. So, I won't see you here again.
She: No. I should work full-time there.

...

She: Where are you going?
Me: I am coming with you. It is almost a year that I haven't seen you. I would like to talk to you.
(Talking about company, driving to work, my car accidents, ...)

...

She: My dog bit someone a few days ago.
Me: Oh, how?
She: We were out, and another dog started to bark, and it got nervous, and attacked the owner of that dog. She never did such a thing before.
Me: It's sad.
She: For me, the sad thing was not having it for 10 days. They quarantined her for ten days to make sure that she doesn't have rabidity.
Me: I see (but I didn't see!) [See, this is a problem of having an American girlfriend. Her dog may bite someone and the only thing she cares is not having it for a while, but at least Angelina is super cute :)]
...

I don't have time to write all our conversation, and it seems that this is not related to the main story.
