Started driving practice with Shani - Sonic fastfood

Shani started to practice driving with my car. We planned to go out every night after 9 pm for practice. Tonight we went very far, and I put gas in the car from a very cheap gas station. She is not a good driver and she needs hard practice. I tried to explain everything to her. She doesn't have confident and she drives very slowly, and I can't ask her to drive faster! We talked about many things in the car while she was driving.

It was around 11 pm, and we were very hungry. She suggested to go to a fast food that she liked better. Its name was Sonic. It was very close to the Walmart that we used to go from the very first days of being in the US, but I had never been there before.

We ordered some hotdogs, but it was very small, and the seller gave us a coupon for a free cheese burger. So, we ordered a cheese burger as well.

Shani is also a good girl. The only thing I noticed most about her was she looses her interest very fast. For example, I start to talk about something, and she listens to me, but when I pause to catch her interest, she looses her interest and changes the subject! It happened several times tonight.

Rodeo watching cowboys, Whataburger

I picked Alexander, Micheal and Shani to go to Rodeo. It was very far, and I drove a long distance to get there. I asked Nancy several times to come with us. I even asked Shani to ask Nancy. I really wanted to be with Nancy today, but for no obvious reason, she didn't want to come. Her excuse was that she decided to go and run.

The parking was very expensive. It was 10$. We decided to park our car somewhere else. But a driver warned us not to park our car in that place. So, we went back there, and we parked our car in the event's parking. Martin talked to the parking manager, and we thought that he paid for the parking ticket. Camellia was also there.

The shops were very expensive. I didn't buy anything there.

We watched the games together. Although it was hard for me to see that they have such a behavior with these innocent animals, it was a good experience. I had this feeling that Shani likes to be more with me.

We left the event before its end because Martin's wife and Camellia were really bored.

Martin's wife suggested to go out and eat our dinner there. I dropped Shane in school, and I went with them. We ate our dinner in Wataburger. The only thing I missed today was Nancy who didn't come with us.

Asante bought a car with me

Asante called me again to go and see another car. He had found a company to give him a loan for buying a car. The dealership was very close to us. I picked him up, and we went there together. When we got there, the dealer said that he sold the car a few minutes ago. I got serious with him, and I complained a lot with him because of it. "We called you, and you said that it was available." I told him. He tried to find us another car in that price range, but he couldn't. He had a car that wanted to sell it. He asked us several times to go and see that car, but I checked the price in KBB, and I figured out that the car doesn't worth the price. We found another car in his list, and we asked for a huge discount. He went to his manager and gave us a price that Asante agreed to buy.

When he wanted to show the car, I figured out that it was not the car that we found in the list. I asked him again, and he said it was the same car. I asked him to go and see the list again. When we saw the list, we noticed that it was the car that he wanted to sell us and we didn't want it. I never buy something that the seller insists on selling it. So, I asked him to show us the other car.

The other car was much better. Asante drove it, and he loved it. The only issue was its price. We negotiated with them and asked them to give us more discount. It was 2000$ more expensive than the first car that we wanted to buy. He called his manager and he came to the office. He asked our price, and he gave us the maximum discount that he could give. Asante was very happy because we got the car for something near its private party fair price!!!

There was a pretty girl who came with her mother to buy a car. I liked her, but I didn't know if I had any chance to talk to her.

Micheal got some Rodeo tickets for us, and I needed to pick up Micheal, and Alexander and Shane to go there. It was very late, and I couldn't wait for Asante to get the car. It took more than four hours and they were still working on it. It was mostly because he wanted to get a loan and the process was lengthy. I accepted to be Asante's co-signer for his loan, but I couldn't because the dealer said the rate won't change with your name in the loan; so, they continued without having my name.

It was late. I left Asante alone there, and I headed off to Rodeo.

His room embarrassed me

My roommate's door was open, and I saw inside his room, and I felt embarrassed. He decorates his room very nicely. In comparison to my room, my room is like an empty room.

I think this is how Americans decorate their rooms. He probably has a girlfriend.

Talking to my professor about the project - Qdoba Mexican food, Tutti Frutti

I could meet my professor today after a long time. He was in a long travel, and he couldn't even answer his emails. He invited me to a restaurant called Qdoba Mexican food. It was a place that he liked. It was also new for me.

We ordered a Mexican food, and we talked about our project. We made some agreements about the requirements, and we made some scratches from the user interfaces.

Then, we went to another store, Tutti Frutti, to talk more. I suggested some new features that I found critical, and he liked it. Although it causes lots of change to my current design.

I hope to finish this project as soon as possible. I am really sick of this long time without any outcome. This project is what I really expect to soften my path toward my goals. I counted on this a lot.

Asante took his road test with me

Asante called me today to give him a ride to take his road test.

It was a very hot day, and we went together. He drove my car, and he passed his test.

In the meanwhile, I went to a store near there. I bought some toys for Martin's daughter. I also bought something for my car to clean icy windshields. 

Midnight talking to Camellia

We went to Martin's home after that. Unexpectedly, Martin's wife said, "She quit her PhD."
Alexander: "Who?"
Martin's wife: "Camellia."
We all shocked. I really didn't expect it. She talked to me a few weeks ago, and I did my best to guide her, but she made this decision without consulting with anybody. I knew that she didn't like her situation, but I didn't know that this may make her to quit her PhD. She doesn't have any funding now, and her Visa status will be invalid if she can't find any other position. In addition, it is almost impossible to get funding from other departments. She needs to pay out of her pocket, and I know that it is very hard to live like that here in the US.

We talked until 3 am about her. Everybody tried to guide her what to do now. I couldn't say anything. I just stayed there to see if we can find any solution. It is one of my weak points that I can't see anybody in trouble. We didn't get any conclusion. It was late in the night, and we all should go to school tomorrow.

Since she doesn't want to go home alone, I decided to drive my car beside her car. In the parking she asked, "Why aren't you in my FB friend list?"
Me: "It is because I unfriended you."
She: "I was looking at my friend's list, and I couldn't find you. I had been unfriended many, and I thought that I unfriended you mistakenly. It thought that oh my God, how can I tell him to ... Whaaaatt??? You unfriended me? Why???"
Me: Sorry, but it was because of that conversation.
She: I sent you another friend request. Please add me. What??? I didn't say anything. Sometimes misunderstandings come in text messages. But we are talking to each other.
Me: I know. I am sorry. I just thought it doesn't work like that.
She: OK. So, don't accept my friend request. I would take it back...
Me: (very slowly) As you wish.
She: No. Please add me. I am pretty sure that it was a misunderstanding.
Me: OK. I will add you again.

We went to the campus together. In our way, she completely forgot to turn into the university road. She missed it. She was really in another world in her thoughts.

She: Where are you coming?
Me: To your home. You told me that you would liked to prepare tea.
She: Me? No. I gonna go to bed... But would you like to walk around the campus?
Me: Yes. Why not.

We walked together. She several times asked me to add her again to my FB.

"You know if it was anybody else, I would never ask him to do that, but for those whom are important to me, I would like to have them in my friends list," she said.

"Why am I important to her? I barely know her. I just saw her several times, and I still don't know who she is." I thought to myself.
"You know, if you talk to me like that now, there is no problem. I didn't know you that time well. But it is OK now for me. I think that you also know me. I don't want to make you unhappy at all." she said.

She was very depressed tonight. I tried to help her as much as I could. I know that she likes me, but I think that she is very different from me. She has born and raised in a very rich family. She doesn't care about the money at all. Even though she lives on campus, she has got the expensive parking permit. She is also average-looking. It doesn't mean that I don't like average-looking girls. In fact, they are better in many aspects, but my point is she doesn't have anything that attracts me. She also made a big mistake by showing her interest to me very early.

We talked for more than an hour. It was almost near the morning prayer time that I left her. "Thank you for talking to me. I feel better :)" She sent me when I got home.
I don't know what will happen in the future, but I am not against being her friend to know her. I know that she is far from my perfect girl, but at least she likes me.
