Los Angeles - Day 5 - Santa Monica beach, 3rd street

I took a bus to Santa Monica beach.

At the begnning, I wanted to visit Angels Attic, but it was closed. They had very limited opening time. So, I went back to see the 3rd street.

3rd Street was full of shops, and tourist who were walking there to buy things.

Some people were making money out of their talents or their dog talents!

I got near the beach. The view was amazing. I saw a girl who was standing there, and was watching the beach. She had a big camera with her; so, I knew that she was a tourist. "She is a tourist, and she is alone. She maybe a good travel-mate for me. Let's go and talk to her." I thought to myself.

Me: "Hi. Would you mind to take my picture here?"
She: "No problem."
Me: "Would you like me to take yours?" [She has lots of piercing, but she is OK. Let's see what happens]
She: "Sure. Thanks."
Me: "Are you traveling alone?"
She: "Yes."
Me: "Me, too. Do you like to travel alone?"
She: "Yes I do. I usually travel alone."
Me: "Oh, but I don't like to travel alone. My friend was supposed to come here, but he couldn't come, and now I am alone. Where are you going now."
She: "I am going to go to the beach."
Me: "I am also going that way. Don't you mind if I join you?"
She: "OK. Let's go together."
Me: "What are you doing in the US?" [Thank god, finally, I could find someone to be together.]
She: "I am a graduate student in Boston."
Me: "You are a student? Me too. I am studying ..."   [At least we have something in common.]
She: "Oh, Jeep. Cool."
Me: "Yes. Cool." [So, Jeeps are cool? I didn't know that!]
She: "Could you take my picture here."
Me: "Yes. Sure."
She: "I am sorry, I take pictures excessively."
Me: "Me, too. Where are you from?"
She: "Australia. How about you?"
Me: "Iran."
...
During our conversation I couldn't understand her sometimes because of her accent, but I did my best to answer her and keep the conversation going.

She: "I want to take my shoes off. Be careful about your camera; it can break easily if it falls down on sands."
Me: "On sands? Really?"
She: "Yes. It happened to me once."
Me: "OK. Thanks."
She: "Don't you want to take your shoes off?"
Me: "No. I feel comfortable."
...

I don't know what happened that we got the beach very soon. "Would you take our pictures? [OK. It's time for you to go your way, and I go my way.]" She asked from two tourists there to take our picture together. "[What is she doing? Why?]" I asked in my thoughts.
Those two tourists took our pictures.

She: "OK. I have a magazine to read. Then, I am going to take a nap here for two hours, and then I need to go and pee." [it is better for you to leave me, and go wherever you want to go.]
[silence for a while. I was just looking around.]
Me: "So, you would like to continue your travel alone." [No... I just found you. Why? Did I say something? Did I do something? What's happened?]
She: "Yes, I think. Besides I have some Canadian friends here." [How can I get rid of you? Go.]
Me: "OK. I am hungry. I need to go and eat something."
She: "There is a pizza shop in the main street."
Me: "Thanks. Bye."
She: "Bye."

I became alone again.

I walked to 3rd street again to find something to eat.

During the way, I just thought about what happened. Maybe she doesn't like me. Maybe I was boring to her. Maybe she was really wanted to travel alone. Maybe she didn't like that I couldn't understand everything she was saying. Maybe... I had no idea.

I had no idea about what to eat. Finally, I saw a Subway shop, and I thought that it might be a good idea to eat there; it was a year that I was in the US, and I had never been to Subway.
