An awesome girl in UCSD

My friend in UCSD shared a photo with some students there. One of them was a very pretty girl. Usually I don't like Iranian girls because of so many reasons that I don't want to talk about it, but she was different. I am thinking that I wish I could find someone like her, or she could be in our university.

I know that it is weird to know someone based on a few photos, but I got a good feeling about her when I saw her photos. She looks very smart; she has a beautiful smile; she is very intelligent, and her eyes laughs when she smiles! Contradictory, she is a mischievous girl inside! Kids, she is among very a few girls in the world whom can truly understand me.

Because of all I said, I tried to contact her.

Me: Hi. I unexpectedly noticed that you are a friend of A.. and M. I know A... from my bachelors, and I know M... since he was a student at my university. If you don't mind, I am curious to know how do you know M...

She: I do see it more appropriate if you asked this from M... whom you already know rather than a stranger, but I did an internship in Qualcomm last summer and that's where I met him.

From her answer, I can say that she is open to know more people. She has a mind framework that she acts based on that, and she notices easily when somebody doesn't perform based on her assumptions. She obeys rules (let's say social rules). She is not a cunning person. She is trustful, and trusts people at the beginning. I replied her, but she was not interested (and there was no reason) to continue the conversation.

Sometimes I ask myself that why I don't consider girls like her and Nancy. I can't say anything wrong with them (Maybe I can: they are not as tall as me!). They are much better than all the girls whom I met in Iran, but I have no answer. Perhaps it is because Taylor is still single. Anyway, I decided to meet her in person in my next trip to San Diego.

A day with my friend in the university

A friend of mine was here because of her wife's conference (the same guy whom I met a few weeks ago). He stayed with me today. Unfortunately, I was very busy as I needed to prepare something for my professor. We went to an event in my university, and we had our lunch there.

Today was very weird. I met that girl whom opened the door for me (http://oneenchanted.blogspot.com/2014/03/one-day-thinking.html). She recognized me, and started to talk to me. Since the area was noisy, I couldn't understand her well, but I asked her about her major, and she answered. I also met Sarah, and some other girls from toastmasters. It was weird because every a few steps, I met a girl whom I knew, and we started to greeting, and my friend had no idea what to do.

I spent a few hours to explain my project and plans to him. I am interested to have him in my team. He is a very good UI/UX designer, and I need him for the user interface of my website. The only problem is that he is living far from me in another city, and his English is not good. The rest of the day, I worked on my course project.

13 be dar 2014 (1393)

Today was 13 be dar. Last night I called Martin, and he said that they planned to go with some other friends. I called Ella, and she was busy. Henry was going to go out with some others. I didn't want to drive all that long way alone. I was absolutely tired, and I didn't want to go out.
I decided to go out to a park near my living place. So, I called Nancy, and she was also busy. At first, she wanted to think about it, but then she changed her mind. I think that she didn't want to come with me alone. One of the boys whom I called decided to come with me. I spent four hours to cook lunch, but he changed his mind.

In the afternoon, he called me, and invited me to go with them to the same place that we went last year. The weather was amazing. The place was very busy. It doesn't worth to pay 7$ per person as we got there very late, but it was good. Martin and his friends were dancing in the stage to some Persian music. I danced a little with them. I noticed that I have never done this before. There were some girls who were coming close to our group and dance with the boys there.

The music was very laud. I couldn't stay in that stage for more than a few minutes, and I left there to take some photos.

The smell of barbecue motivated us to go to a restaurant to eat barbecue there. So, we decided to go there.

Martin and his wife and the group who were with me went to a restaurant together.

I was hungry, and the food was very good.

Since I have cooked lots of food, I have to eat all of them alone during the next week.

Shopping day

Jeeraj wanted to buy a shoe, so I took him to a shoe store. It is very hard to buy a shoe here in the US. It is almost impossible to find what you want. There are not a variety of options, and the good ones are usually very expensive. He spent two hours, and he couldn't buy anything.

We went to JCPenny after that because I had a coupon to use. I bought a hoodie, and one polo shirt. We also ate something there.

We went to a movie, but since another friend was going to join us, it became late, and I left them in front of the cinema, and I went to Walmart for shopping. I bought another hoodie, and a jacket there.

Nancy failed in her test

Nancy had her road test. I had a lot of stress before her test, and I don't know why. Nancy failed to pass her road test today. The reason was she drove too fast. The officer wrote running stop signs and red lights as the reasons of her failure. In our last night's practice, I specifically explained to her how to make a full-stop, but she was used to driving in Iran where people should drive fast to prevent accidents! We need to come one another day for her test.

Awesome cloud

There was a very amazing cloud over our university tonight. I stared at this for more than 30 minutes, and I took so many pictures. It was one of the most strange things that I have ever seen in my life.

I and Nancy went for driving practice after that. She will take her test tomorrow.

Summer plan

I talked to my professor today.

Me: I really thought about the situation. We don't have money to get FDA approval, and we can't get it from external resources. Therefore, we have no choice other than changing the customer segment and features (pivoting). It seems that it becomes completely a different project.
My professor: Yes. I agree. Do you want to work on this?
Me: Yes. Why not?
My professor: I think that it is better to stay here for the summer. If I could get money from the department, that's fine; otherwise, I will pay you out of my pocket. We both are doing risk on this project. It may never work.
Me: OK. I know. I agree. So, I will stay here.

It seems that I don't need to do job searching for the summer. I need to stay here. It's a very big risk for me. I am risking on my PhD, and my future career life as I don't get any job experience, and I don't do anything useful for my thesis. I know it, but I have no other choice. This is my last hope.
